This is a topic often debated around me. Who are the best melbourne bands of all time and I say quite frankly who cares. I mean really does it matter who everyone else thinks the best band is? It is a personal choice and it should remain that way. If you label a band the best band they are likely to dissapoint because everyone expects everything they do to be qutie fantastic, so the best bet is to just keep it personal that they are your favorite band because they are your favorite band and that shouldn’t be changed by what everyone else thinks of them. So go out there and support your favorite melbourne band and show them that you do not give two thoughts about what anyone else thinks of them and that you will still remain a loyal fan through thick and thin, because that is what truly makes a band great, the fans.

The fans are the most important part of a bands life, without them the band is not really succeeding at all, without someone to show their success to they are merely existing and not actually living. So you should always make a point to show up to their gigs whenever you can so that they know they have loyal fans out there and that they have taken the correct path in life and do not second guess themselves. Because you never want one of your favorite bands to start second guessing themselves, because then next thing you know they stop performing and the world loses another fantastic band. Which is not in anyones best interest. So go out there, support them by buying their album or even just showing up to their show, whether it’s free or expensive they really need fans like you to tell them to keep going.

I never realized that there was so much work to be done for a shareholder’s meeting or that it had to be done so far in advance. After having to do the job I realize that it is immensely complicated. Of course the idea is to get specialists to do as much of the work as possible. There are probably going to be at least a one thousand and possibly and as many as 1500 people attending. You have to feed them all and keep them happy with alcohol and corporate entertainment. I just found the people who could do all that stuff and checked to see if they were going to be able to follow through on their commitments.

You certainly do not want to hire a band to perform in front of people who can have you fired unless they are going to be polite. My predecessor in this job told me a little horror story about how one of his former associates had hired an aging rock band to do a corporate event. It had turned into a catastrophe as the lead guitarist collapsed on the stage from taking some sort of illegal drug which did not react well with a prescription drug he was taking for a heart condition. I just asked the people who book the acts about stuff like that and inferred that I would probably sue them if I lost my job because they sent me a band which could not stay vertical for a 40 minute set. We shall probably go with a country band at any rate. In my opinion they are more of a Pop music group, but that is not relevant. The logic is that they will probably not offend anyone too much, or at least not anyone who matters a lot.
